Learn to Fish, Inc. is a Faith-Based, Non-Profit 501(c)(3) Residential Recovery Center for women and children.

  • We offer high quality treatment in a real home-like atmosphere that until now, was only LTF houseavailable to those who could afford the $20,000 – $30,000 for a month at a “traditional” recovery center.  Our rates are based on a sliding scale that makes recovery possible for all women who want help.
  • Learn to Fish is a program that encompasses Mind, Body and Spirit.   We offer a 90-day program that includes a full assessment of each woman’s individual needs, medications, room and board, daily AA or NA meetings, weekly church services at various churches who support us and our women, recreational and fun outings and activities, the opportunity to learn valuable work skills by assisting with our LTF Thrift Store, fundraising activities,etc.

Because each CAA is governed locally, each provides a different mix of programs and services. The following are some of these services:

  • Community Coordination- Citizen participation, neighborhood and community organization, information and referrals
  • Emergency Services- Food Pantries, energy assistance, homeless shelters, domestic violence
  • Education- Head Start, youth mentoring ,literacy, Adult Basic Education
  • Food and Nutrition - Meals on Wheels, congregate feeding, food banks

Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee
Assists individuals and families to live independently by providing nutrition and other supportive services.  Services include: Home delivered Meals, Adult day center, Outreach program, Caregiver support services, Telephone reassurance, Emergency heat & energy assistance for the elderly program, R.S.V.P. (Retired & Senior volunteer program), Transportation, Health monitoring, The food bank of Manatee which provides emergency family baskets, baby baskets and the county's food distribution program.
We provide nutritious meals and daily visits to homebound, low income seniors, nutritional assistance to families in need, including infants and toddlers--------------------------
